EPISODE 11: how to make your podcast not suck

Have you listened to a Podcast that wasn’t produced well and by the end of it, wait you never got to the end of it because it sucked! Yea, we don’t want that to happen to your newly created Podcast either.

Ben is going to take you through the steps you should take to make sure your podcast is easy to listen to and doesn’t totally suck.

Ben is a drafter at an architecture firm, volunteers his tech skills at his local church, is a serial entrepreneur and can fix anything that’s broken. He lives in Cheyenne Wyoming where he enjoys creating local aerial films with his drone, four-wheeling in his Subaru named Dino and kayaking in Lake Marie. He also edits this Podcast!

Today we’re talking about the annoying things you need to look out for so that your podcast doesn’t get skipped over, the flow of your podcast based on your content and type of show, the 3 key factors to consider when launching your podcast, what audio branding is and why you need it and why editing is the most important step that you simply can’t ignore.

Thanks so much for joining us today! If you enjoyed listening to our Podcast chat with Ben, please share it using the social media buttons below and subscribe to the Wake To Make Podcast on iTunes!

Content is something you can work on and work with as you grow and as you do Podcasts but if it sounds bad, it’s really not pleasing to listen to – Ben

I’m a bit of a Podcast enthusiast, I subscribe to and regularly listen to, somewhere in the neighborhood of, 30 podcasts weekly – Ben

(how to stay on brand) Having a consistent intro. Record it once, pick your music, pay for your music, get it polished and really good and then don’t do it again. – Zac

It doesn’t really matter what it is, as long as it sounds good and it’s consistent (your intro) – Ben

One of the things I would encourage you to do is try and at least bring a little bit of closure to the topic that was being discussed before you start the Ad – Ben
